Arlington, VA, May 18 – Freedom Technologies, Inc. (“FTI”) announces the hiring of technology and legal expert Brian Nicholson to provide support to its clients. “The experience that Brian brings to FTI will be invaluable. We are lucky to have him and know he will provide significant positive impact for our clients,” said FTI President and CEO Janice Obuchowski.

Mr. Nicholson brings experience in leading teams domestically and abroad in law, policy, and international affairs on work with a variety of government and private sector clients. He has served as Trial Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of International Affairs, in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and as an attorney at a large international law firm. He has also served embedded with U.S. Special Operations Forces deployed to the Middle East, as military defense counsel for the lead defendant in the 9/11 death-penalty case at Guantanamo Bay, and as a senior advisor on matters before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

Currently, Mr. Nicholson teaches at the Georgetown University Law Center, Notre Dame Law School in the Intensive Trial Advocacy program, and at the Judge Advocate’s Legal Center and School located on the University of Virginia’s campus in Charlottesville, VA. He holds a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School and was previously selected as a Wasserstein Fellow at Harvard Law School.
