December 21, 2025, Washington, D.C. – Freedom Technologies, Inc. (“FTI”) announces the elevation of Matthew Vaught to Senior Vice President, National Security and Strategy.

A member of the D.C. Bar and a graduate of both the University of California, San Diego and the George Washington University Law School, Mr. Vaught joined FTI in 2023. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, combining academic excellence with military service.

Mr. Vaught is proficient in Mandarin Chinese, has lived and worked across East Asia, and studied at Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, and Shenyang University. His prior professional experience is highlighted by over seven years of service in the U.S. Army, including five years as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant. While serving in a specialized tactical team, his experience included extensive work in threat analysis and technical communications throughout Asia.

Mr. Vaught has served as a lead communications planner in situations ranging from training instruction to combat missions. His background uniquely bridges technical, legal, and geopolitical aspects of national security, strategy, and spectrum management. Mr. Vaught was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, NATO Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge.
